Audiobook narrator websites, with the sample first.

A publisher choosing a narrator is choosing a voice they will listen to for ten hours. Your site should let them hear a chapter before anything else.

What a producer listens for.

What matters when someone is casting audiobook narrators, and how the site answers it.

  1. A sample that holds a chapter

One long read of around a minute tells a producer more than a montage: pace, character separation and whether the voice tires.

  2. Genre, not just "audiobooks"

Fantasy, romance, thriller and non-fiction are cast differently. Samples sorted by genre let a producer jump to theirs.

  3. Characters and accents you can sustain

Show the voices you can hold across a whole book, and leave out the ones you cannot.

How your reels are labelled.

Examples of the labels a producer sees before pressing play. Final labels are agreed with you.

  • Audiobook · fantasy
  • Audiobook · romance
  • Audiobook · thriller
  • Non-fiction · history

What your site adds.

  1. The text read along

A transcript under each sample helps visitors who cannot listen, and shows how you phrase the page.

  2. Your studio and turnaround

Booth set-up, file format and how long a finished hour takes, so a producer can plan.

Questions, answered.

Something else? Ask it when you request a quote.

How long should an audiobook sample be?

Around a minute is common for a single long read. Follow any length a producer or platform asks for.

Should I put a sample for every genre?

Only for genres you want to be booked for. A few strong samples beat a long list of thin ones.

Can I add samples from books I have narrated?

Only with the right to show them. Otherwise record an original excerpt and label it clearly.

Your voice, heard first.
